Description

The Rawlins Almshouses, located on Bromley Road in Beckenham, were originally built in 1694 but were largely rebuilt in 1881. The building is a single storey with an attic and features three windows and three gabled dormers. It is constructed of red brick and has a coved stuccoed eaves cornice, topped with a tiled roof. The windows are casement style. Above the central doorway, there is a tablet that reads: "Anthony Rawlins Esq built these Houses for ye poor of this Parish of Beckenham Anno. Dom. 1694."
