Description
Nos 171, 173, 175 (Royal Bell Hotel) and 177 on High Street in Bromley were designed by architect Ernest Newton and rebuilt in 1898 on the site of an earlier inn from 1666. The building is four to five storeys tall, constructed of red brick, and features a slate roof with nine pedimented dormers. It has a dropped modillion cornice and three three-light bays adorned with pargetting that includes Neo-Jacobean motifs. There are also two one-light sash windows, all featuring pargetting. The main entrance consists of a plain door and a doorcase with a curved pediment supported by Roman Ionic half columns. The building has later shopfronts added.
