Description

The Church of St Gabriel, designed by architects R P Day and W Bassett Smith, was built around 1898. It features rubble ashlar dressings and tiled roofs. The church includes a chancel, a nave with a clerestory, and low side aisles. There is a west tower with an oblong plan and a sloping tiled saddleback roof. The nave has five bays and contains contemporary fittings. The church stands out among the surrounding buildings.
