Description

This is a terrace of five houses, probably built in 1737. Originally situated on Church Road, the buildings are now numbered 180 to 188 Rectory Lane, Foots Cray. Each house is three storeys high with an attic, and features two windows to the front. The windows are flush-framed sashes retaining their original glazing bars. The attic is lit by hipped dormers. Ground floor windows have been altered, with No. 184 having a curved window. Each house possesses a six-panelled door. The exterior is red brick, colour-washed, with brick stringcourses marking the levels between floors. A moulded wooden eaves cornice runs along the top of the building, and the roof is tiled. The rear elevation is two storeys high and is weatherboarded, with later extensions present. Many bricks in the ground storey’s construction are initialled and dated 1737.
