Description
The Parish Church of All Saints, located on Rectory Lane in Foots Cray, is a Grade II* listed building that was largely rebuilt around 1863 by architect Henry Hakewill. The church retains elements from the earlier structure, including a west spire, a west porch, a single lancet window, two Perpendicular windows, and a wide arch leading to the north aisle. The building is constructed of flint with stone bands and dressings, topped with a red tile roof. It features a nave with a west porch, a chancel, a south chapel, and north vestries along with an organ chamber. A wooden bell tower sits over the nave, crowned with a shingled broached spire. Inside, notable features include a late 12th-century font with water-leaf capitals on the corner shafts, a gate to the rood-loft stairs dated 1638, and a mid-14th-century effigy.
