Description
Hadley House, dating from around 1760, is a large red brick house built on a grand scale. It is two storeys high and five windows wide in the main block, with the central three windows set forward under a pediment. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. The entrance porch features fluted Doric columns, a well-crafted fanlight, a panelled door, and sidelights. The house has a central pediment and a parapet, along with stone dressings. The garden front is notable for its three full-height iron and tented verandahs. The interior has not been seen. Hadley House was the home of L C Tennyson d'Eyncout and includes a three-storey block that is four windows wide, featuring full-height bow sashes with glazing bars.
