Description
St Joseph's Roman Catholic College was built around 1866-71 by the architect Goldie and features several additions. The college includes an apsidal chapel with a plain yet striking tower on its east side. This tower is topped by a gilt statue of St Joseph, with angels positioned at each corner of the fretted parapet, which has machicolations beneath it. On the east side of the chapel, there are two-storey claustral buildings that have paired semi-circular headed windows set within semi-circular headed recesses. The entire group is faced with brick and has tiled roofs, and it is prominently located.
