Description

A pair of houses located at 150 and 152 Willifield Way, built in 1910 as part of the Hampstead Garden Suburb. Designed by Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin, the houses are constructed of red brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with a tile roof featuring swept and boxed eaves. They are two storeys high and have a two-window front, with two-window returns. The design is similar to numbers 131 and 133 Willifield Way but with some alterations. Segmental-arched windows are present on the ground floor and both floors of the returns, where the entrances are located. A substantial axial ridge stack is situated on the party wall. The houses have a slightly projecting brick plinth. They are positioned to define the far end of Willifield Green and provide a transition to pebble-dashed houses further along Willifield Way. All windows are original casement designs. The pair forms part of a larger group including numbers 113, 123-133 (odd), 126-156 (even) Willifield Way, and 38, 40, and 42 Asmuns Hill. The group value stems from their contribution to the historic planned layout of the Hampstead Garden Suburb.
