Description
No. 51 Harley Street is an end of terrace house built in 1894, designed by Elgood. The building features red brick with red sandstone dressings and has a slate roof that extends to a parapet. It stands four storeys high and consists of two bays. The entrance is located to the right and is square-headed with an Ionic doorcase and a timber glazed door. Above the entrance, there is a two-storey staircase oriel window. To the left, there are square-sided four-light bay windows on the ground and first floors. An oriel window is set at an angle across the left corner, rising from the first to the second floor. A cornice is present above the third floor, and there are square-headed dormers. The left return features a shaped gable. The interior is notable for its panelling and fireplaces that incorporate fine old Delftware tiles.
