Description

This is a row of eight houses located on Wilton Place in the City of Westminster, dating from the early 19th century. Constructed of yellow brick, the ground floor features channelled stucco. The houses originally comprised four storeys each, though numbers 1, 3, 4, and 6 have been raised to five storeys, and numbers 5, 7, and 8 have been extended with mansard attics. Each house is two windows wide. Each house has an arched entrance, with various panelled doors. The ground floor windows are also arched, except for those in numbers 5 and 7, which have been altered. Wrought iron balconies of a Gothic design are present on the first floor. The windows are square headed with gauged arches and mainly sash windows, retaining some original glazing bars. Cast iron garden railings are also a feature. This row of houses is of group value.
