Description
62 and 64 Knightsbridge is a bank building constructed between 1884 and 1885 by F. Porter for the London and County Bank, built by F. Trollope & Co. It is made of Portland stone and features a slate roof. The building stands three storeys high, plus a basement and a mansard attic, and is five windows wide with a return to the right. The exterior showcases horizontal rustication from the ground to the top. The main entrance, located to the left, is framed by a Doric porch with pink granite columns, while a subsidiary entrance is situated to the right. All windows are square-headed, with large windows on the ground floor separated by pilasters. The upper windows are architraved, and those on the first floor are pedimented. The ground floor slightly projects, and the first and second floors are connected by fluted Corinthian half columns. A cornice runs along the top, and there is a balustraded parapet and a balustraded area at the front.
