Description

This is a balanced terrace of houses located on St George's Square, Westminster, dating from the mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of stucco, with slate mansard roofs to some properties. The terrace comprises four storeys and a basement, with each house featuring two windows. The three houses at each end of the terrace project slightly forward. The ground floor is characterized by channelled detailing. Projecting porches, supported by square piers, feature panelled doors. A continuous balustraded balcony runs along the first floor. Windows are square-headed, with architraves above the ground floor, cornices to the first and second floors and pediments above the first floors of the projecting houses. Most windows retain their original sash glazing bars, although some first-floor windows have French casements. The building is topped by a console cornice. Steps lead to the entrances and the property is further defined by cast iron area railings.
