Description

This is a terrace of twenty-one houses built in the early 19th century on Harcourt Street, London. The houses are primarily yellow stock brick, with the ground floor of number 17 stuccoed. A rebuilt parapet hides the roofline. The terrace is three storeys high with a basement, and each house originally had two bays. Numbers 20, 24, and 25 feature pilastered shop fronts; number 24 has a swept fascia and cornice. Numbers 17 and 21 have entrances on the right-hand side, with sash windows containing glazing bars to the left. Number 17 has a six-panel door and a fanlight with radial glazing. Number 18 incorporates a wide through-way. The upper floors contain recessed sash windows with glazing bars, each set beneath a gauged brick flat arch. The parapet rises towards Old Marylebone Road.
