Description

This is a row of houses located at 8-17 Cliveden Place, London SW1, and including number 26 Eaton Terrace. The houses date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of yellow brick with channelled stucco to the ground floor. The roofs are largely hidden, although number 26 has a slated mansard roof. The houses are four storeys high and two windows wide. Each house has a round-headed entrance and round-headed windows on the ground floor, with the exception of number 26, which has square-headed windows. The ground floor windows are sash windows, mostly retaining their original glazing bars. The first floor windows are French casements. Wrought iron balconies are present at numbers 8, 11, 12, and 14 to 17. Above the ground floor, the windows are square headed with gauged heads. The houses have parapets and cast iron area railings.
