Description

The mortuary and lodge at Drury Lane Gardens, built around 1880, feature linking walls and gate piers. Constructed from red brick with stone dressings and slate roofs, they are designed in a simple Gothic style. The lodge is located on the left and the mortuary on the right. The mortuary is a single storey building with a canted west end and a gable facing the street, which includes a two-light plate tracery window and a saddlestone gable. There is a similar window on the side and a pointed arch doorway. A stone-coped wall with miniature crenellated gate piers and a retaining wall connects the mortuary to the lodge on the left. The lodge is also a single storey with an attic, featuring a gable with stone quoins and a saddlestone, along with a pent-roofed porch on the side. Each floor of the lodge has a two-light casement window.
