Description
A pair of grand terraced houses dating from the mid-19th century, located in Knightsbridge, London. The houses are constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings and have a low-pitched slate roof. They are designed in an Italianate style, standing four storeys high with an attic and basement. Each house has a width of three windows. The ground floor is rusticated, and there are rusticated stone quoins. A canted bay window is centrally located on each house, rising through the ground and first floors. Paired entrances are set within Doric porches supported by granite columns, leading to panelled doors. Balconies are situated on the first floor, and Ionic pilasters flank the windows. Pediments are above the central windows of the second floor, with architraves above the second and third floors. The attic storey is integrated into the frieze and is complemented by a rich cornice. A cast iron balustrade runs along the roofline, with a similar balustrade to the area below. The buildings are in an unmutilated condition. The interiors have not been inspected.
