Description
29 Great Windmill Street is a terraced house dating from around the mid-18th century. The building is constructed of brick, with stucco applied to the ground floor. It stands three storeys high and has two bays, although the roof is not visible. The ground floor features a refurbished shop front from the mid-19th century, which includes plate glass and a paired entrance for both the house and shop on the right side. Above, there are square-headed windows with gauged brick heads, and the top storey has plate glass sashes that are unhorned. The building is topped with a parapet. Inside, there is an original closed string turned baluster staircase located in a panelled compartment. The first floor front retains original panelling and a cornice, along with an arched niche that features a moulded architrave and a scrolled key.
