Description
No 9 Cleveland Row is a terrace house built in the late 17th century and altered in the early 19th century. The exterior is stuccoed with a slate roof and features three storeys plus an attic. It has three windows across the front, with an arched doorway on the right that includes a fanlight. The windows are flush framed sash windows with glazing bars, set under flat gauged arches. The central window on the first floor is a shallow Regency rectangular bay, and there is a cast iron balcony on this floor. The building has a parapet with coping.
Inside, the second and third floors retain pine panelled rooms, with some decorative features in the front room on the second floor. The ground floor rooms were likely remodeled in the early 19th century and are connected by a screen of fluted Ionic columns. The staircase is dog-legged with a closed string, featuring turned balusters and a moulded handrail.
