Description
This is a block of mansion flats built between 1897 and 1899, designed by Charles J.C. Pawley. Constructed of red brick with stone and terracotta dressings, it features a slate roof and eclectic Renaissance-style architectural details. The building is eight stories high and nine windows wide, with a central courtyard. A two-story carriage archway, formed within the central three bays, leads to the courtyard. This archway is flanked by pilasters supporting a segmental pediment. Above the archway, a loggia is featured on each floor, composed of three semicircular arched openings with a terracotta balustrade. The flanking bays incorporate loggias with segmental arched openings and casement windows. A segmental pediment sits above the fifth floor of the central feature. Terracotta friezes are present above the ground, first, and second floors. Ornamental iron balconies are located on the fifth floor. The building is topped by a crowning cornice and parapet.
