Description
This is a terrace of "4th rate" houses located in Shouldham Street, Westminster, built around 1810 to 1820. The terrace comprises numbers 15 to 27. The buildings are constructed of stock brick, with numbers 15 and 24 to 27 having stuccoed ground floors. They have concealed slate roofs. The terrace is three storeys high and includes a basement, with number 21 having a dormered mansard roof. Most sections have two windows across the front, except for number 27, which has three. The doorways have semicircular arched openings, except number 27, which has a square-headed entrance. These doorways contain panelled doors with fanlights above. The windows are recessed sash windows with glazing bars, within stuccoed reveals, and are set beneath gauged flat arches, predominantly made of red brick. A plat band marks the end of the ground floor stucco work on numbers 15 and 24 to 27. The fronts are finished with a plain parapet and coping, which was rebuilt at number 16. Original cast iron window guards are present on the first floor. Cast iron area railings are topped with urn finials.
