Description
31 Curzon Street is a terrace house built around 1770. It features multi-coloured stock brick and a slate roof, rising four storeys with a basement and a dormered mansard. The house is two windows wide and has an early to mid-20th century stone Doric doorcase on the right. The windows are revealed casement style, set under flat gauged red brick arches with painted red brick dressings. A stone cornice sits above the second floor, topped by a parapet with coping. There is an early 19th century cast iron balcony on the first floor, and the building retains its original lead rainwater head. The cast iron area railings have urn finials. Inside, the interior was altered in the early 20th century but still features a staircase from around 1800, which has acanthus waisted square section balusters and an apsed end, with a lift inserted in the well.
