Description

The Lodge to Bedford College is a lodge built around 1827, originally serving the now-demolished South Villa, and is attributed to the architect Decimus Burton. The building is constructed of stucco and features a slate roof with a hexagonal plan and a single storey. It has an entrance porch supported by Doric pillars, a cornice, and a blocking course, along with a doorway topped by a pediment on flat consoles. The windows are recessed glazing bar sashes. A crowning cornice is adorned with lion's head gargoyles, and the roof slopes down to a central hexagonal stuccoed chimney stack.
