Description

The gateway to St James's Park, located opposite Marlborough Road, was built around 1901-1911 by Aston Webb as part of his Victoria Memorial-Mall scheme. It features Portland stone piers and iron gates. There are three tall, panelled gate piers adorned with carved armorial badges, cornice caps, and ball finials. The ornamental gates are designed in the style of Louis XV and Louis XVI, showcasing swept openwork overthrows.
