Description

This is a terrace of houses located on the south side of Chesham Place in the City of Westminster, built in the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco with slate mansard roofs. The end houses project slightly forward and feature rusticated quoins. The terrace is four storeys high, with a mansard attic and basement. Each house is three to four windows wide. The ground floor is characterised by channelling. The houses have unfluted Doric projecting porches, and a variety of panelled doors. A continuous balustraded balcony runs along the first floor. The windows are square-headed with architraves, pedimented on the first floor and corniced on the second floor. They are primarily sash windows with glazing bars, although the first floor has French casements. A modillion cornice runs above the third floor, topped by a parapet. Cast iron spearhead area railings are also present.
