Description
A row of six houses at 51-61 St George's Drive, located in the City of Westminster, was built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco with slate mansard roofs and extend over four storeys, plus a basement. Each house originally had two windows, except for the end houses which feature a single tripartite window, and are set forward slightly with rusticated quoins. A projecting Doric porch, incorporating triglyph friezes, provides access. Panelled doors lead to the interior. The ground floor features channelling, while a continuous, balustraded balcony runs across the first floor. Windows are architraved above the ground floor level; first-floor windows are surmounted by pediments, and second-floor windows have cornices, with the windows of the other houses also topped by pediments. The windows are sash windows with plate glass, with French casements on the first floor. There's a decorative band above the second floor, and a console cornice above the third floor. Original cast iron area railings are present.
