Description

The chimney to the Western Pumping Station, located behind number 124 Grosvenor Road in the City of Westminster, dates from around 1875. It is constructed of yellow brick with Portland stone dressings. The chimney has a square plan and is designed to resemble an Italian campanile, featuring battered sides and pilaster strips. There is stone-dressed arcading at the flange, with two oculi on each face and a dentil cornice. An iron cresting surrounds the vent at the top.
