Description

This is a row of large houses at 11 to 15 Grosvenor Crescent, built around 1860 by Thomas Cundy III. The houses are constructed of Portland stone and are in a "French Renaissance" style. The end houses project slightly and feature rusticated quoins. The buildings are four storeys high, with each house three windows wide. Projecting Ionic porches grace the front. The ground floor is channelled, the first floor has arched windows, and the upper windows are square-headed with architraves. A continuous cast iron balcony runs along the first floor, with further balconies and window guards above. Attic windows are pedimented and fitted with sash windows and plate glass. French casements are present on the first floor. A heavy console cornice tops the building, and slab chimneys are a distinctive feature. Cast iron area railings complete the exterior.
