Description
No. 49 Belgrave Square is a mansion built around 1840 to 1850. It is constructed of stucco and has four storeys, featuring five windows across its front, including a full-height central canted bay window. The ground floor has channelling, and the square-headed windows are adorned with architraves; the windows on the first and second floors have cornices, while the outer first-floor windows are pedimented. A heavy cornice with a balustrade sits above the building. The structure has returns on both sides, with an entrance on the left accessed through a projecting Doric porch. This mansion holds an important position at the north-east corner of Belgrave Square.
