Description
36 to 40 Belgrave Street is a terrace of cottages built in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of stock brick with some red brick patching, featuring a parapet and a roof that is not visible. A stucco band is present at the first floor sill height. The buildings are two storeys high with a basement, each having two windows. The upper windows are set in shallow arched recesses, while the lower windows have gauged flat brick arches. All the windows are sashes with glazing bars. The doors are round-headed with coved reveals, reeded architraves, and fanlights that include tracery, leading to six-panelled doors. Nos 34 to 42 and Nos 50 to 58 form a group with these cottages.
