Description

The Accumulator Tower on the west side of Poplar Dock is a hydraulic accumulator tower built around 1875. It is constructed of stock brick with red brick dressings. The tower features occuli arranged beneath the eaves of a pyramidal slate roof, which is topped by a finial. This structure is contemporary with another accumulator tower located in the southeast corner of Poplar Dock and served as a power source for the dockside vanes.
