Description
Phoenix School is a special school built between 1951 and 1952, designed by Farquaharson and McMorran. The structure features a concrete frame with stock brick infill and low pitched copper roofs, consisting of one and two storeys. The building has a spine plan that runs north-south, with a series of attached two-storey pavilions on both the east and west sides, creating open courtyards. It is characterized by large windows with painted metal frames and includes a fully glazed assembly hall that is one tall storey high. Additionally, there are four reliefs by Steven Sykes located on the outside walls of the central court.
