Description
The tablet in the north wall of the Portuguese Jewish burial ground is a Grade II listed structure. The burial ground was established in the mid-17th century and features numerous graves from the 17th and 18th centuries, marked by flat grave stones. The north wall displays an inscribed stone tablet, housed in a glazed case, which is adorned with side scrolls, a moulded cornice, and a pediment. This tablet commemorates the laying of the first stone in 1634.
