Description
The Drinking Fountain and Clock Tower at Queen Mary College (University of London) was built in 1840. It features a white stone structure that includes marble basins for drinking fountains on the north and south sides. The eastern face has a bas relief carving, while the western face displays a tablet inscribed: "Presented to the trustees of the Peoples' Palace for the benefit of the people of East London by Herbert Stern Esq in memory of his father Baron de Stern." The clock tower is topped with a double cupola and has wide cornices above and below the clock, along with fluted corner pilasters.
