Description
Howlettes Mead is a house built in 1777, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It features a stucco exterior and a pitched slate roof that is set behind a parapet over a heavy moulded cornice. The building has three storeys and three bays in the main block, with splayed returns. To the right, there is a two-storey extension, and to the left, a one-storey bay that has been built out.
The central bay slightly projects and is accentuated by a wide Doric pilastered porch. Above the entrance door, there is an entablature with paterae on the frieze, a cornice, and a blocking course. The house has four-pane sash windows with moulded architraves. The ground-floor windows have console bracketed cornices, while the first-floor windows feature console bracketed pediments, with the outer ones being triangular and the central one being segmental. The interior has not been inspected.
