Description
This is a terrace of nine identical houses, numbered 15 to 31, located on King Edward Walk in Southwark. They were built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of stock brick with stucco dressings, featuring a stucco cornice and blocking course. A brick parapet is present, with stucco pilasters projecting slightly above numbers 15 and 17. Each house has two bays and a basement. Steps lead to the front doors, which are framed by stucco architraves, friezes, and cornices (the cornices to numbers 15 and 17 are missing). Several original doors survive, featuring two long panels, for example at numbers 25 and 29. Number 31 projects slightly and has an entrance in a small, recessed extension to the right. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath flat, gauged-brick arches. First-floor windows are recessed in rounded arches, with a stucco sill band running along the front. Fire insurance signs are positioned between the windows on the first floor. The interior of the houses was not inspected as part of the listing process. Original area railings remain in front of numbers 17 to 25.
