Description
This is a terrace of four houses located on Jamaica Road, dating to the mid-18th century with later additions around 1800 (particularly number 130). Some rebuilding has occurred over time. Numbers 124 and 126 are built of amber and brown brick with slate mansard roofs concealed behind parapets. Numbers 128 and 130 are constructed of amber brick and have parapets.
Numbers 124 and 126 are two storeys with an attic and a basement, each with three bays. Each house has a six-panelled door with an oblong overlight, recessed in a panelled doorcase topped with a flat wooden cornice supported on brackets. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within gauged, slightly cambered arches. The windows in the left-hand bay of each house are fitted with near-flush boxed frames, except for the ground-floor windows of number 126, which have slightly projecting moulded cases. Numbers 128 and 130 are three storeys with a basement to number 130, also with three bays. Number 128 has a similar door and windows to number 124, but the first-floor windows are casement windows. The door to number 130 has a dentil cornice and a stucco architrave with a dentil cornice. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within stucco-lined reveals beneath flat brick arches.
The interiors have not been inspected. The terrace is accompanied by cast-iron hand rails, area railings, and overthrows to the gates.
