Description
The Bunch of Grapes Public House is a building that originally served as a house before being converted into a public house. It dates from the early 19th century, with later modifications in the late 19th century. The structure is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring gauged brick lintels on the upper storeys and artificial stone on the ground floor. The roof is parapeted, and the building has three storeys plus an attic over a basement. It has a four-window range, with all openings being flat-arched. The public house front is adorned with Tuscan pilasters and panelled spandrels, and some original decorative glass is present in the overlights. The first-floor windows have 6x6 sash frames, the second-floor windows have 3x6 sashes, and the attic windows have 3x3 sashes. The cornice on the second floor was originally the same as that on the adjacent buildings numbered 4-8. The interior has not been inspected. The Bunch of Grapes forms a group with the buildings at Nos 4-8.
