Description

This is a statue of General William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, located in the forecourt of the William Booth Memorial Training College in Southwark. Created around 1930 by the sculptor G Wade, the statue is made of bronze and stands on a stone pedestal. The pedestal is inscribed with the words "GENERAL WILLIAM BOOTH FOUNDER OF THE SALVATION ARMY BORN APRIL 10TH 1829 PROMOTED TO GLORY AUGUST 20TH 1912".
