Description
No. 5 Whichcote Street is an early 19th-century, two-storey cottage featuring two windows and a sunk basement. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a parapet front. It showcases gauged flat brick arches above sash windows that have glazing bars set in stucco-lined reveals. To the right of the four-panel door, which is flanked by narrow pilasters and topped with a cornice head, there is a boot-scraper set into the wall. The door also has a blocked fanlight beneath a round gauged brick arch. The cottage is noted for its prominent position on the island.
