Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of stuccoed houses located on the north side of Queen's Gate Gardens. It comprises numbers 11 to 23, each with three windows. The houses are five storeys high, including a basement. Most have Doric porticos, often in pairs. A stuccoed balustrade runs along the first-floor balcony, and balconies to the second floor on four houses at each end of the terrace. A modillioned cornice sits below the top storey, and a smaller cornice with blocking supports the slated mansard roof, which has been altered, particularly on numbers 11 and 13. Original area railings are present. The group value of the terrace lies in its cohesive design and contribution to the character of Queen's Gate Gardens.
