Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of houses situated on Queen’s Gate Gardens. The terrace comprises numbers 24 to 39, and is constructed of gault brick and stucco, with a slate mansard roof, except for numbers 24, 25 and 26 which have a slate roof only. The buildings are five storeys high, with a basement. Each house has three windows, with the exception of numbers 27 and 28 which have Doric porticos featuring waterleaf capitals. A stuccoed balustrade runs along the first-floor balcony, and the windows are predominantly pedimented. A modillion cornice is located below the top storey, and a smaller cornice with blocking sits at the roofline. Houses numbers 33 to 39 feature one-storey bay windows, while numbers 27 to 32 are larger in scale and project slightly forward. Balconies are present on the second floor of numbers 24, 27, 28, 31, and 32. Area railings mark the front boundary.
