Description
Chelsea Town Hall is a town hall built between 1906 and 1918, designed by architect Leonard Stokes. It features red brick and stone construction with a granite plinth and a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and 15 windows wide, with three bays at each end that are pedimented and have stone facing. There are Roman Ionic columns in antis at the entrances, and the red brick walls are adorned with stone architraves, aprons, and cornices. The ground floor windows have segmental heads, while the upper windows are square-headed. A central bellcote with a split pediment and a large, elaborate dado projects beneath it. The town hall is grouped with the Old Vestry Hall at the rear in Chelsea Manor Gardens.
