Description
Nos. 15 to 18 Cromwell Place is a mid-19th century stuccoed terrace that stands four storeys tall, with an attic and basement. Each house features three windows, and the Doric porches are set forward from the main facade. The first floor has a cast iron bombe balcony that projects over the porches, and the central window on this floor is topped with a pediment. A rich dentil cornice is present above the third floor, and the building is capped with a parapet, mansard roof, and dormers. There are also cast iron area railings. The terrace remains largely unaltered, except for a later 19th-century bank facade with Doric columns and pilasters that has been added to the ground floor of the left-hand house, which is in keeping with the overall design. This terrace is part of the layout of Cromwell Place.
