Description

The Church of St Augustine, designed by William Butterfield, was built in 1865. It features yellow brick construction with red and black brick and stone bands. The church has a Gothic western bellcote with pinnacles on either side and an aisled five-bay nave. The interior showcases rich polychrome brick decoration, which has been repainted after being previously whitewashed. Notable elements include fine marble work in the chancel and font, a brass lectern, and painted ceramic tile pictures on the aisle walls.
