Description

The railings around Claremont Square, dating from the mid-19th century, form the perimeter of the square. They are made of bracketed cast-iron and feature tasselled spear-head standards. The square was previously known as the 'New Reservoir' for the New River Head and is now elevated above the surrounding streets, supported by a grass-covered mound over the reservoir.
