Description
The United Reformed Church is a cruciform church built in the early 20th century, designed in the Art-and-Craft Gothic style. It is constructed of red brick with freestone dressings and features a green slate roof. There is a northeast vestry extension and a northwest porch located at the angle between the chancel and transept, which has a swept roof and deep eaves. At the crossing, there is a leaded spire with deep eaves above a low stage of bell-openings. The east windows are paired and very long, while the large south transept windows showcase reticulated tracery, with some diapering of blue headers below. There are two south doors, one located in the porch, both set in deep, segment-headed reveals with hoodmoulds. The soffits are designed to give the appearance of panelling, supported by low stone brackets that pass over moulded bands.
