Description
The Church of St Michael and All Angels is a parish church built in 1843 by Sir George Gilbert Scott, with alterations made in 1865 by Curzon. The church features a nave, aisles, a chancel, and a square tower with a stone spire located at the south transept. It has a south porch and is constructed from rubble masonry with freestone dressings. The design reflects a late 13th-century style, characterized by plate tracery in the aisle windows and paired quatrefoil-headed clerestory windows. Inside, there is a five-bay nave supported by simple round piers, an octagonal stone font at the west end, and a small chapel at the base of the tower. The chancel and tower were added in 1874, and the chancel is notably narrow.
