Description
The Tomb of Frederick Harold Young is a mausoleum located approximately 40 metres east of the West Gate at Hammersmith Cemetery, dated 1884 according to a bronze inscription tablet on the door. It was erected by Harold Young's parents and is constructed from light brown sandstone with Portland stone dressings and a slate fishscale roof. The mausoleum is designed in the Gothic style, featuring blind arcading on the long sides supported by grey granite shafts. The entrance has a two-light and quatrefoil door with notable bronze fittings. At the north end, there are a pair of lancet openings, one of which retains its stained glass. This mausoleum is the only one in the cemetery.
