Description
Sandford Manor House is a substantial house, likely dating from the later 17th century, with subsequent alterations and additions. The house is constructed of brick, with a rough cast finish to the front, and has a slate mansard roof. It is two storeys high with dormers, and has five windows across the front. A horizontal band runs along the first floor. Behind a parapet, the roof has a twin valley profile, finished with a cornice and blocking course. Red brick stacks, each featuring clustered, diagonally-set shafts, are present. The windows are casement windows with timber mullions and transoms. A wooden doorcase includes panelled pilasters, consoles, and an open pediment. The interior is understood to contain a panelled hall and an oak staircase with moulded strings and handrail, turned balusters, and square newels.
