Description

Three early to mid 19th century cast iron gunposts are located in a row about 20 yards east of Shoreditch High Street. The posts consist of two stout ones flanking a thinner one that is marked "S.L.S." These gunposts marked the entrance to the infamous Old Nichol district, which is mentioned in Arthur Morrison's novel, "A Child of the Jago."
